How to pick a color from an image

HEX, RGB, and HSL explained
HEX is the six-digit code used most often on the web (for example #0D9488). RGB describes the same color as red, green, and blue channels — common in canvas APIs and many design apps. HSL splits the color into hue, saturation, and lightness, which makes it easier to lighten a sampled colour or build a palette around one hue. Why use a color picker from an image?
Screenshots, product shots, and mood boards rarely come with a documented palette. Picking from the image is faster than approximating in a generic color wheel, and it keeps HEX and RGB in sync. When the file is too large for the web, compress the image after you copy the codes. To resize or crop the same photo, open the image editor.
Sampling from the image also keeps HEX, RGB, and HSL in agreement. You do not have to convert formats by hand or wonder whether a colour picker in another app rounded the values. Copy what you need, keep the HEX if you will reuse the palette, and move on to editing or export.
